About High Bay LED Lighting

High Bay LED lighting is a type of directional lighting that is typically used in warehouse applications. It is available in both linear and round versions, and the UFO high bay is the most popular style. Linear High bays are another type of high bay fixture that can be found in supermarkets & department store aisles.

High Bay LED lights are used in commercial settings with high ceilings, anywhere from 12 feet up. They provide bright, focused light and come with beam options from 60 degrees to 120.  Low bay lights on the hand are only available in 120.

In recent years, the switch to LED lights has been driven by the significant energy savings that it offers. They are up to 50% more efficient than traditional metal halide or fluorescent lights, making them an excellent choice for businesses looking to reduce their energy costs.

At ECO LED Mart, all of our lighting fixtures are LED-based and offer significant energy savings. We have a wide variety of high bay lights to choose from, so you can find the perfect option for your business.

Benefits of using AN LED HIGH-BAY LIGHT FIXTURE

High bay LED lights are a type of industrial lighting typically used in areas with high ceilings, such as warehouses and gymnasiums. Unlike traditional fluorescent lights, which emit diffused light that can cause glare and eye fatigue, LED bay lights provide a daylight-like brightness that is easier on the eyes.

In addition, high bay LED lights offer directional lighting, which allows you to pinpoint a beam of light in a specific area. This is ideal for tasks that require precision, such as assembly work or packing boxes. As a result, they can help to improve productivity and safety in industrial settings.

At ECO LED Mart, we have a history of dealing with facility managers and understand the importance of finding the most efficient and effective lighting solution for your business. Our staff is highly knowledgeable about the different types of LED lights and can enhance these aforementioned benefits by providing you with recommendations on the ideal fixture for your specific lighting needs and applications.

Types of LED HIGH Bays

The two types of high bay lighting are UFO lights and linear lighting with UFO being by far the most popular at the moment. We offer both types and a variety of different wattage options to choose from so that you can find the perfect light for your needs.

UFO LED High Bay Lights

UFO high bay lights are a type of lighting fixture that has a UFO-like shape and are popular in industrial and warehouse settings. UFO high bay lights are more efficient than traditional linear high bays, and they offer better light distribution. UFO fixtures are also dimmable, which can help save energy.

LED Linear High Bay Lights

Linear High bay lights are a type of lighting fixture that hangs on a ceiling through a cable and is popular in supermarkets and department stores. Linear high bay lights are less popular than UFO lights but are ideal for these specific niche applications

Why use LED for High Bay Lights

When it comes to high bay lighting, there are many reasons to choose LED over traditional lighting options.

Color Rendering

Color Rendering Index, or CRI as it's referred to in the lighting industry, is a measure of a light’s ability to render colors accurately. The higher the CRI, the better the color rendering. LED lights have a CRI of 80 or higher, which is considered very good.

This means that objects illuminated by an LED light will appear closer to their true color than they would under a traditional light source.

Color Temperature

Color temperature measured in Kelvin is the warmth or coolness of light. LEDs are available in a variety of color temperatures, from warm white (3000K) to cool white (5700K).

CFL on the other hand, typically has a color temperature of 2700K -3100l, which is considered warm white.

Warm white light is best suited for living areas, while cool white light is better for work areas where tasks need to be completed more accurately. Thus, LED high bays are the more ideal choice for these applications.

Lifespan

LEDs have a much longer lifespan than CFLs. Most LEDs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours or more, while CFLs typically last around 8,000-10,000 hours. This means that you will likely never have to replace the LED high bay lights in your facility.

Safety

CFLs contain mercury, which is a toxic substance. If a CFL light bulb breaks, it can release mercury into the environment. This can be harmful to both people and animals.

At ECO LED, all of our high bay LED fixtures are mercury-free, making them a safer choice for your business.

Cool Temperature

Facilities that require cool temperatures, such as food storage warehouses, can benefit from using LED high bay lights. LEDs emit very little heat, which can help to keep the temperature down in space.

This is also a benefit from any facility in the summer months, as it can help to keep the space cooler and cut costs significantly compared to using traditional lights.

Dimmability

LEDs can be dimmed, which allows you to adjust the light level to suit your needs. This is a great way to save energy, as you can use less light when full brightness is not required

Efficiency

Lastly, LED lights are much more efficient than traditional light bulbs, and they produce less heat. This makes them safer to use and more comfortable for workers. Finally, many local governments offer rebates for businesses that switch to LED lighting, making it a more cost-effective option in the long run. When it comes to high bay lights, LED is a clear choice.

Mounting Options for High Bay Lighting

UFO Lights

There are two main mounting options for UFO lights: eye bolts and U bolts. Eye bolts are typically used for hanging high bay lights from ceilings, while U bolts are more commonly used for attaching high bay lights to poles or flat surfaces.

Both eye bolts and U bolts can be adjusted to account for different ceiling heights or surface areas, making them versatile mounting options for high bay lighting.

Linear High bay lights

Linear lights on the other hand are more straightforward. All you need to mount them are cables that can be suspended from the ceiling.

4. What color temperature options do you offer for your high bay lights?

We understand that different environments require different color temperatures. This is why we offer three different configurations for our linear models

4000K- cool white (ideal for warehouses or other large commercial spaces)/p>

5000K- daylight (better for office spaces where workers need to be more alert)/p>

7. Are your LED lights dimmable?

We offer 1v-10v dimming on all of our commercial high bay lights.
